Celebrates Historic Opening of 99 th Store
Celebration held at Charlestown, MA location

Charlestown, MA (January 19, 2005) – Fifty-two years after the very first Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub opened its doors at 99 State Street in Boston, the company celebrates the momentous opening of its ninety-ninth restaurant with employees at its Charlestown, MA location.

On Wednesday, January 19 th President John Grady and advisory committee member, Chad Doe, of the Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pubs, and Greg Burns, CEO, O'Charley's Inc., were joined by Senator Jarrett T. Barrios, members of the City Council and Ninety Nine employees to honor the new store which opened last month in Groton, CT. To honor the occasion, a commemorative ceremony and plaque presentation with Lyndia Downey of the Pine Street Inn and John Glazebrook of the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club was held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Charlestown restaurant located at 29-31 Austin St, Charlestown, MA.

“We are very proud to celebrate the opening of our ninety-ninth store, and would like to recognize our employees, who have played a huge role in the success of the Ninety Nine over the past fifty-two years,” said John Grady. “Our staff’s commitment to our ‘treat people right’ philosophy has enabled the Ninety Nine to uphold its tradition of superior customer service as the company continues to grow.”

As part of the Ninety Nine’s celebration, a $5 coupon will be mailed to one million customers across New England.

At the celebration, the Ninety Nine was honored for its commitment to the local community by the Charlestown chapter of the Boys & Girls Club and the Pine Street Inn. For the past twenty-five years, Ninety Nine employees from various locations volunteer to travel to the Pine Street Inn on the first Tuesday of every month to prepare and serve restaurant-style dinners for more than 1,000 guests. In addition, each time a new restaurant location is opened, the Ninety Nine makes a donation to benefit the local Boys & Girls Club that serves that location's community.
