The Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pubs Red Sox Raffle Raises $50,000 to Benefit the Pine Street Inn Five local winners receive Monster Seats to Red Sox vs. Devil Rays game
Woburn, MA (April 18, 2005) –The Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub is proud to announce that its two week in-store raffle for Red Sox tickets raised $50,000 for the Pine Street Inn. Five lucky winners who will see the Red Sox take on the Devil Rays at Ninety Nine Night on August 30 th were drawn this week and include: Norman Arsenaault of Lowell, Judy Avilla of Fall River, Ron Fortier of Billerica, Peg Nuttall of Barnstable and Jim DiSanto of Beverly.
Fifty restaurants participated in the raffle, selling individual tickets for $2, or 3 tickets for $5. The Fall River location grossed the highest ticket sales raising $5,585. The Ninety Nine expressed its appreciation for the enthusiasm and commitment of the Fall River location by asking Ray Desmaris, General Managing Partner at Fall River, to throw out the opening pitch at Fenway Park on the August 30 th game.
“The dedication and hard work of our employees and staff is what enabled this raffle to be such a tremendous success,” said John Grady, Ninety Nine President. “We drastically exceeded our expectations, and are proud to be able to donate this money to a wonderful organization like the Pine Street Inn.”
This fundraiser is part of the Ninety Nine’s longstanding relationship with the Pine Street Inn. Over the past twenty-five years, through its customers and staff, The Ninety Nine has donated more than $2.5 million to the Inn. Employees from various locations volunteer to travel to the Pine Street Inn on the second Tuesday of every month to prepare and serve restaurant-style dinners for more than 1,000 guests. The Ninety Nine has assisted in the launch of the Inn’s Food Services Job Training Program to help homeless men and women acquire the skills and self confidence to move back into the community. The company also dedicated a new center for the Job Training & Food Services Program in Boston, Mass.
