Ninety Nine Restaurant Kicks Off “Ninety Nine Night” at Fenway Park with Donation to the Boys & Girls Club and the Pine Street Inn
BOSTON, MA (August, 2007) – Ninety Nine Restaurant celebrated their 6th annual “Ninety Nine Restaurant Night” at Fenway park on August 14th, when the Boston Red Sox took on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. At the game, the Ninety Nine Restaurant donated $80,000 to the Boys & Girls Club and $50,000 to the Pine Street Inn. Chris DiRocco, General Managing Partner at the Ninety Nine Restaurant located in Marlboro, MA threw out the opening pitch.
The Ninety Nine opened its first restaurant in 1952 in Boston and currently operates 115 restaurants throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. During its 55-year history, the Ninety Nine has earned a strong reputation as a friendly, comfortable place to gather and enjoy great American food and drink.
In addition to providing great food and great drink at a terrific price, the Ninety Nine also prides itself in being an active member of the local community. Each Ninety Nine Restaurant has a relationship at the local level with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the oldest and largest organization that has a primary mission of service to youth. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the relationship between the Ninety Nine and The Boys & Girls Club.
The $80,000 donation made on August 14th to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America was raised through a program called “Dressed to the Nines,” where 30 restaurants will be refreshed by the end of 2007. As each restaurant is refreshed with a more contemporary look, a two-week long in-restaurant silent auction is held to raise money for the local Boys & Girls Club, where plaques and memorabilia that have decorated the restaurant are auctioned off as part of the program.
The $50,000 donation was raised through the Ninety Nine Restaurant’s “Have a Heart” raffle, which set out to raise funds for the Pine Street Inn, New England’s largest resource for homeless men and women. This year marks the 27th year the Ninety Nine Restaurant has been involved with the Pine Street Inn.
“The Ninety Nine is proud to be able to support wonderful organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and the Pine Street Inn,” said Ninety Nine president John Grady. “We’re proud to make these donations to organizations that are really making a difference in the community. We look forward to growing our relationship even further and giving back to the communities in which we operate .” About the Ninety Nine Restaurant
