The Ninety Nine Restaurant Extends Partnership with the Boston Red Sox
Ninety Nine signs on for another three years as the Official Family Restaurant of the Red Sox
Woburn, Mass. – October 19, 2007 –The Ninety Nine Restaurant announced today that it will continue to be the Official Family Restaurant of the Boston Red Sox. Under the terms of the renewed agreement, the Ninety Nine will extend its relationship with the beloved sports team for three more years. Ninety Nine has been a Red Sox partner since 2002.
“The Red Sox are thrilled about extending our partnership with a New England institution,” said Sam Kennedy, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Boston Red Sox. “Red Sox Nation is comprised of families who have enjoyed the Ninety Nine Restaurant for generations; since our ownership group arrived in Boston in 2002, the Ninety Nine has been one of our most loyal and active partners. We thank them for all they have done for communities in and around Fenway Park.”
As part of the sponsorship, the Ninety Nine will continue its popular “Ninety Nine Night” at Fenway Park. The Ninety Nine Restaurants throughout New England hold in-restaurant contests where guests have a chance to win tickets to a Red Sox game on Ninety Nine Night.
The Ninety Nine prides itself on being an active member of the local community, which has been demonstrated during Ninety Nine Nights at Fenway Park since 2002. Each Ninety Nine Restaurant has a relationship at the local level with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the oldest and largest organization that has a primary mission of service to youth. During this year’s Ninety Nine Night, the Ninety Nine Restaurant presented the Boys & Girls Club with a check for $80,000. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the relationship.
Also during Ninety Nine Night this year, a $50,000 donation was made to the Pine Street Inn. The Pine Street Inn, New England’s largest resource for homeless men and women, also has a longstanding relationship with the Ninety Nine – in fact, this year marks the 27th year of the partnership.
“Because of our commitment and our passion to serve our guests, we are constantly weighing their likes and dislikes,” said Ninety Nine president John Grady. “One thing we have seen year over year is our guests’ dedication to the Boston Red Sox. The sponsorship allows them the opportunity to participate in exciting Red Sox promotions that they have come to really enjoy. We’re proud to affiliate ourselves with the Boston Red Sox and look forward to remaining the team’s Official Family Restaurant.”
The Ninety Nine will also continue to have a major presence at Fenway Park, including the “Starting Nines” on the Park’s jumbo video screen at the start of the game and signage throughout the park.
