Ninety Nine Restaurant Kicks Off “Ninety Nine Night” at Fenway Park with Donation to the Boys & Girls Club and the Pine Street Inn

Boston, MA (August 12, 2008) - Ninety Nine Restaurants celebrated their 7th annual “Ninety Nine Restaurant Night” at Fenway Park on August 12th, when the Boston Red Sox took on the Texas Rangers. At the game, the Ninety Nine Restaurants donated $116,000 to the Boys & Girls Club and $40,000 to the Pine Street Inn. Chris Conti of Barrington, RI, winner of the Ninety Nine’s Fenway Fantasy Sweepstakes, threw out the first pitch. The Ninety Nine Restaurants is the official family restaurant of the Boston Red Sox.

The $116,000 donation made on August 12th to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America was raised through a chain-wide raffle and a program called “Dressed to the Nines,” where each restaurant is refreshed with a more contemporary look. As each restaurant is refreshed with a more contemporary look, a two-week long in-restaurant silent auction is held to raise money for the local Boys & Girls Club, where plaques and memorabilia that have decorated the restaurant are auctioned off as part of the program.

The $40,000 donation was raised through the Ninety Nine Restaurants ’s “Have a Heart” raffle, which set out to raise funds for the Pine Street Inn, New England’s largest resource for homeless men and women. This year marks the 28th year the Ninety Nine Restaurants has been involved with the Pine Street Inn. “The Ninety Nine is proud to be able to support wonderful organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and the Pine Street Inn,” said Ninety Nine president John Grady. “We’re excited to make these donations to organizations that are really making a difference in the community. We look forward to growing our relationship even further and giving back to the communities in which we operate.”

To continue their affiliation with the Boston Red Sox, beginning September 1st the Ninety Nine Restaurants will start a new promotion where guests win every time the Red Sox win. The restaurants will be giving out a free kid’s meal from the kids menu for every adult entrée purchased the day after a Red Sox victory.
